Pellet gun damages windshield of moving auto on West Side

A West Side man told Buffalo police Saturday that a man fired a pellet gun at his moving vehicle, striking the windshield near the corner of West Delavan Avenue and Herkimer Street.

Northwest District officers said the auto was eastbound on West Delavan about 11:45 a.m. Saturday when the driver, a Baynes Street resident, saw a man standing on the corner pull out a black object, which the driver said appeared to be a pellet gun. The driver then heard an object strike his windshield. Later, he found that the windshield had been damaged.

The driver said he slammed on the brakes, causing his female passenger to strike her head on a door post inside the vehicle.
