Niagara Falls man indicted in two shooting incidents, witness threats

Robert K. Cox, 26, of Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty last week to an indictment accusing him of firing a gun into a house, shooting a man, and showing up outside the grand jury room to threaten witnesses.

Niagara County Assistant District Attorney Doreen M. Hoffmann said Cox is accused of firing a gun into a house at 1101 Cleveland Ave. in the Falls on Jan. 22.

He's also charged with shooting Marcus Hamilton, 29, in the left forearm during a May 23 melee in front of a home at 1339 Whitney Ave. in the Falls. Cox was free on bail from the January case when the May shooting occurred.

Hoffmann said Cox was outside the DA's Office and the grand jury room the day evidence against him was presented, and told one witness he would be "capped." State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. set bail at $100,000.
