Driver of stolen car eludes police in chase from Black Rock to Kenmore

A stolen car that rammed a Buffalo police vehicle in an Amherst Street parking lot got away Friday night, after a high-speed chase that ended in Kenmore.

Northwest District police said the incident began as an officer was checking out a report of reckless driving in the parking lot of Amherst Street Wine and Liquor, 601 Amherst St., at 9:48 p.m. Friday.

The vehicle in question, which had previously been reported as stolen, fled through the parking lot, striking the patrol vehicle on the way, according to police reports.

The officer chased the stolen auto through city streets before losing sight of it on Delaware Road in Kenmore.
