Tonawanda woman unhurt after impaling car on guardrail

A City of Tonawanda woman drove her car into a guard rail while leaving the Twin City Highway Saturday morning, leaving her car impaled on the rail, police reported. She was unhurt.

Leah M. Sidote, 21, of Grant Street, Tonawanda was leaving the Highway to Young Street too fast and bounced off guard rails on either side of the ramp finally coming to rest, after her vehicle was impaled on the guard rail, City of Tonawanda police reported. The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m.

Sidote was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated,  imprudent speed and possession of marijuana. Police recorded a blood alcohol content of .19 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
