A 96-year-old volunteer honored in Kenmore

The Kenmore Village Improvement Society honored retired teacher, World War II veteran, accomplished violinist and dedicated volunteer Daniel Rydzynski at its meeting last week.

Rydzynski, 96, received special recognition from the society for his contributions to society and his community.

His daughter, Bette Hulley, who is a society board member, said that her father had always wanted to live in Kenmore.

"He has enjoyed the past 15 years here and wished he had moved here sooner," according to Hulley.

Rydzynski grew up in Buffalo, where he was the 11th of 12 children. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
