HOT WHEELS – The seventh annual Meghan Redenbach Memorial “Man Up” Car and Bike Show takes place Saturday at the East Amherst Fire Hall, 9100 Transit Road, with registration from 9 a.m. to noon and awards at 4 p.m. Rain date is Sunday.
The show is in memory of the Royalton-Hartland High School student who lost a two-year battle with cancer in 2010. Fulfilling her wish to help other children with cancer, proceeds benefit the Man Up Memorial Award, Carly’s Club and Make-A-Wish Foundation of WNY.

COOL THOUGHT – Beat the heat from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at St. James United Methodist Church, 4661 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, when the United Methodist Women hold an ice cream social. Proceeds will support mission work.

LACE UP – A 30-mile relay run Friday from Jamestown to Dunkirk will kick off the 21st annual Laurel Run, which supports programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It begins at 8 a.m. at the Resource Center, 75 Jones & Gifford Ave., Jamestown, and concludes with a victory celebration from noon to 2 p.m. in Washington Park in Dunkirk.
The main Laurel Run activities are Saturday in Silver Creek, with a 5K fitness walk and 1K fun run at 8:30 a.m. in the village square, then an 8K race at 9. Registration starts at 7 a.m. Prizes of $100, $75 and $50 go to the top three men and women in the 8K event. Team awards also will be given. Want to run? Call 661-4735 or visit laurel-run.com.

GARDENS TO GO – Garden lovers can visit up to 30 locations in the annual Williamsville Garden Walk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Or they can bring along a garden of their own.
Visitors are invited to created themed portable container gardens and enter them in the Tiny Garden Contest. The public will vote for their favorites and winners will be awarded Golden Gnome trophies and other prizes.
