Man charged with manslaughter in crash that killed North Tonawanda woman

A Chautauqua County man has been charged with second-degree manslaughter following a collision that killed a North Tonawanda woman riding a motorcycle on Route 20A in Wyoming County, State Police said Wednesday.

Joshua D. Huntress of Mayville also was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and several other vehicle and traffic law violations, troopers said.

Tomasa Martinez, 66, was killed and three motorcycle riders were injured Sunday when Huntress' car crossed into the oncoming lane about 11:45 a.m. and struck two bikes in the Town of Orangeville, police said. She was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

State Police said Huntress was westbound and crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding with the two motorcycles that each had a passenger.

Huntress was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court and remanded to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail.
