A City of Tonawanda man has been accused of stealing a woman's purse from an unlocked vehicle outside a day care, police said.
Timothy E. Vincent, 28, of Morgan Street, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny in the theft that happened at about 7:50 a.m. Monday on Adam Street, City of Tonawanda police said. Officers found the empty purse in a garbage tote several blocks away.
Police spotted Vincent at about noon on the Seymour Street bridge. He had in his possession 11 credit and debit cards, the woman's driver's license and social security card, according to police.
Vincent was held on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Tonawanda City Court on Friday, police said.
