Poland's secretary of state to attend Pulaski Day Parade on Sunday

The secretary of state of Poland will attend the Pulaski Day Parade in Cheektowaga on Sunday.

Anna Maria Anders is among the guests scheduled to be present for the parade, which begins at 1:30 p.m at the Thruway Plaza on Walden Avenue.

Actress Loretta Swit, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland John Petkus, Erie County Legislature Chairman John Mills and Assembly Member Monica Wallace will be honorary grand marshals.

The Pulaski Day Parade is held in conjunction with the Cheektowaga Polish American Festival.

Anders, who serves in the government of Poland's prime minister, is a senator and a minister. She is the daughter of Polish General Wladyslaw Anders, famous for the Battle of Monte Cassino, in Italy, during World War II.

Swit is best known for her portrayal of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on M*A*S*H*, for which she won two Emmy Awards.

Petkus has received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.
