Trump’s mixed message raises many questions
President Trump’s White House spokespersons say that we should believe and trust all of his tweets as official statements. So in the midst of urging Senate Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which will effectively deny health care coverage to tens of millions of Americans, Trump has generously offered to help a British couple wanting to keep their 11-month-old son – born with a rare genetic mutation making him blind and deaf and suffering from persistent epileptic seizures – on life support systems that British doctors have reluctantly concluded should be disconnected.
Question: Is Trump’s policy no health care for American children whose parents can’t afford private insurance, but heroic assistance to help the children of foreigners captured in headline news? Of course we already know from Trump’s travel ban, that no Muslims need apply.
