Woman is assaulted by driver who almost struck her

NIAGARA FALLS – A 24-year-old woman told police she was assaulted early Saturday by a woman who had almost struck her with her car.

The victim told police that around 1:30 a.m. she was nearly hit by a car that also narrowly missed hitting another vehicle nearby in the 300 block of Niagara Street. The victim told police that while the errant driver was parking her vehicle, she screamed at her. The woman exited her vehicle, ran over to the victim and repeatedly punched her.

The altercation ended, police said, but reignited when another fight broke out nearby. Police said that when they arrived on the scene, the driver was holding the victim’s hair while repeatedly punching her in the face. The victim also was kicked and sustained a cut to the head. She refused treatment at the scene.

Police arrested Roshena C. Shine, 33, of 20th Street, charging her with third-degree assault and harassment.
