Lost wallet leads to drug charge

AMITY – A lost wallet turned over to State Police led to the arrest of a 30-year-old Fillmore man on drug possession charges, State Police reported.

Derrick J. Totsline was arrested July 2 on charges of narcotics possession.

As it turned out, a good Samaritan found Totsline's wallet, and returned it to the barracks in Amity, said Sgt. Matthew Witkowski.

When Totsline showed up at the barracks to claim his property – his wallet which contained a fentanyl patch – police charged him with possession of a controlled substance, Witkowski said.

Totsline was issued an appearance ticket for 6 p.m. Thursday in Hume Town Court.
