Driver cited in Twin City Highway crash that injured motorcyclist

A 35-year-old motorcyclist sustained shoulder and ankle injuries Saturday afternoon on the Twin City Highway after he was struck by a driver who police said ran a red light.

The accident occurred at 3:55 p.m. at the intersection of Twin City Highway and Young Street.

Christian R. Granata of Colvin Boulevard was northbound on a 2006 Kawasaki when he was struck by a car traveling eastbound on Young Street crossing the intersection, said Captain Fredric Foels of the City of Tonawanda Police Department.

Police identified the car driver as Suzanne J. Hartman of Walter Avenue. She was issued a summons for passing a red light, Foels said.

Granata was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of shoulder and ankle injuries, Foels said.
