Burglary attempt at South Buffalo pizzeria caught on video

A burglary suspect wearing a dark hoodie pulled over his head used bolt cutters to cut the iron safety gate over the door of South Buffalo pizzeria during a break-in attempt early Saturday, police said.

The attempted burglary that occurred at 2:30 a.m. at Ricota's Pizza, 206 Elk St., was recorded by the shop's surveillance cameras, police said.

It happened the same time a witness called 911 to report two suspicious males exiting a silver four-door Pontiac in the 600 block of Fulton Street – directly behind the store, police said. The witness told police that one of the suspects carried bolt cutters.
