2 charged with DWI after running off road

Running off the road led to drunken driving charges recently for a pair of Niagara County men, police report.

Aaron D. Stephens, 24, of Madison Avenue, Lewiston, was charged after police smelled alcohol on his breath when they helped him out of a car he had driven into a ditch about 6 p.m. June 28 on Creek Road in the Town of Lewiston, according to reports. Officers said he showed a blood alcohol content of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit.

Daniel C. Miller, 44, of Lockport-Olcott Road, Newfane, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after he apparently fell asleep at the wheel about 2:20 a.m. June 30 and ended up on a front lawn on Lockport-Olcott Road, police said. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.20, according to reports.
