A stubborn fire early Sunday left $155,000 in damages to a two-story wood-frame house and surrounding structures on Lakeview Avenue, reported the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.
The blaze broke out just before 12:15 a.m. in the rear of the two-apartment structure at 21 Lakeview, one block south of Porter Avenue, said fire dispatchers.
The fire spread to an attached garage, and a rear cottage located at 23 Lakeview.
Damages to the main house and contents were estimated at $95,000. The cottage and garage each sustained $30,000 in damages, fire officials estimated.
It is not known if the structure was occupied at the time of the fire. Fire officials believed it under renovation. It is now scheduled for emergency demolition.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause.
