A motorcyclist died late Friday following a collision in Chautauqua County after two vehicles collided at an intersection and one of those vehicles went into an oncoming lane, striking the motorcyclist.
William Wagner, 61, of Forestville died at Erie County Medical Center, where he was taken by Starlight following the crash,
This is how the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department deputies described the collision:
Dawn Clayburg, 57, of Tonawanda, had stopped at the stop sign on Hanover Road facing south about 6 p.m. and then proceeded south across Route 39 when she did not yield the right of way to Brandon Hilton, 23, of Westfield, who was westbound on Route 39.
The collision pushed Hilton's vehicle into the oncoming lane, and Hilton's vehicle struck Wagner who was traveling east on Route 39.
Wagner was taken to ECMC and deputies were notified about midnight that Wagner had died.
Clayburg was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's accident reconstruction team continues to investigate the fatality.
