Man leaves empty-handed after threatening to 'blow off' heads of store clerks

No items were taken, but a cigarette butt and a bloody napkin were left behind by a man who threatened to "blow off" the heads of the clerks at the Family Dollar store at Kenmore and Starin avenues if they did not comply with his demands, according to Buffalo Police reports.

The cashier at Family Dollar told police that shortly before 10 p.m. Friday the man, described as a 6-foot, slim black male in his 30s with brown eyes, black wavy hair and a beard, entered the 710 Kenmore Ave. store and demanded she open the store's safe, the report stated.

The robber, who was wearing a gray or green fatigue jacket, a black shirt and black pants, threatened to "blow off" the heads of the clerks at the store if they didn't comply with his demand.

He later fled westbound on Kenmore Avenue after not getting anything from the store.

Northwest District Police are investigating the incident.
