The longest running regatta in Western New York takes place Sunday as the 104th West Side Invitational hosted by West Side Rowing Club begins at 9 a.m. at the foot of Porter Avenue.
The regatta features the best collegiate and high school rowers from Western New York and Southern Ontario with teams from West Side Rowing Club, St. Catherine’s Rowing Club, South Niagara Rowing Club and Rochester Junior Rowing.
Host West Side has won the club points trophy the last two years.
This is the first regatta in summer 2017. The competition continues throughout the summer, ending in August with the Canadian Royal Henley regatta at St. Catherine’s, Ontario. The Canadian Henley is one of the largest regattas in North America.
