Explore & More Children's Museum will issue a "request for proposals" Monday for a construction manager to oversee the interior development of its new Canalside museum.
The East Aurora-based nonprofit is looking for a company to provide preconstruction and construction services to build out the inside of the four-story building, including the exhibits. Plans call for several educational play zones, two office areas, an admissions lobby, a retail space, a public cafe, two multi-purpose rooms, a loading dock, machine rooms, a cooking galley and an art room.
The construction manager will be responsible for taking over the project after LeChase Construction finishes erecting the "core-and-shell" of the 43,000-square-foot project, expected in June 2018. The chosen firm will also work with the designated interior architects at Foit Albert & Associates.
Submissions are due by July 31. Interested parties may direct questions to Explore & More CEO Douglas Love at email@example.com.
