BASKETBALL: Maryvale High School will host a week long camp starting July 10, 8:30 a.m. to noon, for boys in grades 5-9. Cost is $70 and the camp will be run by Maryvale and Amherst high school coaches and varsity players who will cover the fundamentals of the game with individual and group instruction. Grades 3-5 will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and grades 6-9 from noon to 3 p.m. Cost is $80 per player (family discounts available) and includes individual instruction and use of the NOAH Shooting Machine which charts your shots and team competitions. SOFTBALL: The Lou Gehrig Lasers will hold tryouts Aug. 7 for ages 14U and 16U; Aug. 8 for 12U; and Aug. 9 for 10U and 8U. A make up day will be held Aug. 10. TENNIS: The Third Annual Chestnut Ridge Summer Classic Tournament will be Sept. 7-10 at the Chestnut Ridge Park tennis courts. Divisons are Men’s Singles 3.0, Open Men’s Doubles 6.0-9.0, Women’s Singles 3.0-4.5. Women’s Doubles 6.0-9.0 and Mixed Doubles 6.0-9.0.
