2 arrested in drug case following citizen complaint

Two people were arrested Wednesday evening in Amherst after authorities found them in possession of ketamine, LSD and marijuana, the Erie County Sheriff's Office said.

Mateusz Ruszkiewicz, 23, of Depew, had the drugs in his vehicle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, after deputies and Amherst police responded to a complaint of erratic driving and suspicious behavior at 5033 Transit Road, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Ruszkiewicz was charged with a felony and misdemeanor drug possession crimes and a vehicle and traffic violation, the Sheriff's Office said. He was booked in the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.

The passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody by Amherst police, who declined Thursday to provide any information.
