Buffalo police release photo of possible vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

A 40-year-old woman died after she was struck in a hit-and-run Thursday night near the corner of East Ferry and Donovan streets, Buffalo Police reported Friday.

She was identified by police as Ramona Sanders of Walden Avenue.

She was struck at about 10 p.m. Someone called 911 and reported seeing the woman lying in the street, said Police Lt. Jeff Rinaldo.

Police released a photo taken from a surveillance video camera near the scene. Investigators described the vehicle as a light-colored four-door that may be an SUV crossover or a minivan.

"If anybody from the public recognized the vehicle or happened to be in the area of East Ferry and Donovan we ask that they contact the confidential tip line at 847-2255," Rinaldo said. "We believe there were a few witnesses to the event out and about," Rinaldo said.
