Amazing new building is safe, accessible to all
In response to the June 29 letter about the Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater, the writer needs to experience this great new facility. On June 30, the Broadway stars the Doo Wop Project had the place rocking. Young and old were singing, dancing and listening in a safe space for all. The new facility, completed in about 10 months, is beyond the expectations of almost all (property owners, architects, preservationists and visitors). The facility feels and looks the same. Some will not even realize there is a new complex.
This amazing new structure is our signature building that draws more than 100,000 people each summer. It is now safe, accessible and a stage for audiences, artists, speakers and clergy. Elbert Hubbard’s motto, “Art is not a thing; it is a way,” says it all. The new amp is a way!
The writer should come and join the rest of us singing, dancing and experiencing our continued history and traditions that we are preserving into the 21st century for generations to come.
