City residents can drop off hazardous waste Saturday

City of Buffalo residents only can drop off hazardous materials on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Houghton Academy, 1725 Clinton St

Items that can be disposed of for free include:

  • pesticides, fertilizers, pool and household chemicals and cleaners (limit 2 gallons)
  • oil-based paints and spray cans (limit 10 gallons)
  • paint thinner, stripper and solvents (limit 2 gallons)
  • lead acid and rechargeable batteries (no alkaline accepted)
  • oil, gasoline, kerosene, antifreeze (limit 10 gallons)
  • mercury thermometers, thermostats and metal
  • full or empty propane tanks and cylinders
  • tires with rims removed (limit 5)
  • televisions, computers, printers and other electronics
