The Empire 8 League, which includes Buffalo State, and the Liberty League have agreed to partner for a postseason football game, the inaugural New York State Bowl Game, which will be played on Saturday, Nov. 18.
The top team from each conference not selected for the NCAA Division III championship will play. The sites will alternate from year to year. This year’s game will be hosted by the Liberty League representative.
Besides Buffalo State, the Empire 8 includes St. John Fisher, Alfred University, Brockport State, Cortland, Hartwick, Morrisville State and Utica. The Liberty League now has six football playing members: Hobart, Rochester, Ithaca, Rensselaer, St. Lawrence and Union.
