The Buffalo Beauts have signed four players, including two holdovers from their 2016-17 Isobel Cup championship team, for next season. Returning are forward Kourtney Kunichka and defender Lisa Chesson. Last season, Kunichka had two goals and nine assists in 17 games in National Women’s Hockey League play. Chesson, a former U.S. Olympian, had four assists in eight games last season.
In addition, the Beauts signed two rookie forwards from Mercyhurst University – Taylor Accursi and Kathy Donohue. Accursi, of Ancaster, Ont., had 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists) in 35 games for the Lakers. Donohue, from Rochester, played 132 games over four years at Mercyhurst, finishing her career in 2016. She had 13 points in 37 games as a sophomore for the Lakers.
