Orchard Park residents get to choose community center design

Orchard Park town officials are looking for input from residents on what type of architectural style they would like on the new Brush Mountain Community Center.

Three options will be presented at Wednesday's Town Board meeting, and also will be posted on the website for about two weeks. They include a gabled look, one with contemporary lines and a prairie design reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright.

"We've been at pains to keep the community involved," said Councilman Michael Sherry, who is serving as project manager for the center. "We don’t want to just rely on a steering committee."

Sherry said details, such as the specific materials and colors, will not be chosen until the exterior and interior architectural designs are selected.

Sherry said two other angles of the multi-generational building will be available at Wednesday's meeting that starts at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St.
