Look at Cuba’s policy regarding health care
There was a remarkable panel of business executives that held a public meeting at Roswell Park Cancer Institute on June 27 about the proposed replacement for Obamacare. Their consensus: The proposed replacement is dreadful for both the sick and the well. And that it would be very appropriate and essential for people to become engaged.
I recently went to eastern Cuba for two weeks. It is the poorer end of the island. Cuba has subsidized medical care for everyone. There were polyclinics in the cities and in the country. There was universal access. Life expectancy is the same in Cuba as in the U.S.
Some politicians say that health care is way too expensive for the government. Only individuals can afford it. I think they need to go to Cuba to see what the Cuban government has done, before they destroy health care to save money.
