Sometimes, even when NFL players are found not guilty in the court of law, they still pay a price in the league's court.
That won't be the case for Buffalo Bills running back Jonathan Williams.
After recently being found not guilty of DWI, Williams was informed by the NFL that he won't be suspended for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the Bills confirmed to The Buffalo News. It was first reported by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Williams is the leading candidate to replace Mike Gillislee, who joined the New England Patriots as a restricted free agent, as the backup to LeSean McCoy.
