Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity is celebrating a $2.25 million donation.
The gift, donated by a family from outside Western New York, will go to the organization's $12 million capital campaign to improve the Our Lady of Victory campus and its program sites in Lackawanna.
"This is the single largest gift Our Lady of Victory has ever received from a private donor," said John Pitts, a spokesman for the charitable agency.
The $2.25 million from the Adams Family, when added to the previous donations, brings the total of the campaign to more than 90 percent of its overall goal and a little more than $950,000 left to raise.
The organizations that will benefit are collectively known as Father Baker's. They include Our Lady of Victory Homes of Charity, Baker Victory Services and the Our Lady of Victory National Shrine and Basilica.
