Two different companies have voluntarily recalled chicken products this week.
California-based Overhill Farms has recalled 54,630 after learning some customers have found pieces of bone in its chicken bites. The chicken was packaged in Yummy Spoonfuls children's frozen meals as well as organic chicken products sold under the Overhill Farms brand.
Maxi Canada, headquartered in Quebec, recalled its chicken products because they may contain an undeclared allergen. Breadcrumbs used in the product may contain milk the manufacturer didn't know was there, and which was not included on the product's ingredient label. The milk could cause a reaction in people allergic to it.
The Overhill Farms recall list encompasses six products, including Yummy Spoonfuls Chicken Carrot Bites and Fully Cooked Organic Chicken Sweet Potato Bites Chicken Patties with Sweet Potatoes, Quinoa and Peas. They were produced on Aug. 30, 2016; Feb. 1, 2017; Feb. 9, 2017 and April 25, 2017.
The list of products recalled by Maxi Canada has about 16 items including Yummy! Yummy! Dino Buddies Chicken Breast Nuggets, 100 percent All-Natural Chicken Breast Fries and Yummy! Yummy! Alpha Buddies Chicken Breast Nuggets with certain bar code numbers. They have production dates from June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2017.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported in association with either recall. Products can be returned to the store for a full refund.
