Start-ups to compete for $20,000 prize at Bright Buffalo Niagara event

Five start-ups will compete for a $20,000 top prize at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the University at Buffalo's Bright Buffalo Niagara Entrepreneur Expo, at Hotel Henry in Buffalo.

The companies – GapGrid, NanoHydroChem, Rachel's Remedy, HigherMe and WeDidIt – will pitch for five minutes each and have an additional five minutes to answer questions.

Also, 16 presenters will each give a 90-second pitch for the chance to win the $5,000 People's Choice Award.

The event will also feature a trade show to showcase their ideas and meet with potential mentors, collaborators and investors.
