The Walden Galleria will hold a security lock down drill at 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
The drill is aimed at preparing employees for possible emergencies. It's performed by mall security and the Cheektowaga Police Department.
The mall performs such drills quarterly. They're held during regular mall hours to simulate a more realistic environment.
The drills make sure there are "open lines of communication" between the mall and the police, and keep the mall safe and prepared, said Marissa Romano, the mall's marketing manager.
