Erie County Youth Services will sponsor a free Summer Reading & Writing Camp.
Dog Ears Bookstore, 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo, will host the camp. The first installment, for 7- and 8-year-olds, will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24 to 28. Others will take place July 31 to Aug. 4 for those 9 to 11; and Aug. 14 to 18 for students ages 12 and 13.
Camps are limited to 20 registrants.
Dog Ears also will host summer reading camps for kids in the 14220, 14210, 14206 ZIP codes. The first camp, for 7- and 8-year-olds, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, June 26-30. A similar camp for those ages 9 to 11 will take place July 17-21 and a camp for those 12 and 13 will run July 10 to 14. Camps will feature reading and writing activities, games and more, with all activities aligned with Common Core and state standards in education.
A reading and writing camp for teens will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from July 6 through Aug. 24. For more info or to register for a camp program, visit the bookstore.
