A brazen thief who used a tool stolen from a homeowner's locked backyard shed made off with cameras and a television from an East Side home Saturday, police said.
The resident called police at 7 a.m. Saturday to report that an intruder had first broken the lock off her backyard shed and stolen hedge clippers, then used the tool to pry open a rear kitchen window to get into the house.
Inside, the intruder collected and fled with a 36-inch flat screen television, a Canon film camera, an HP digital camera and a Dish TV box.
The thief left the hedge clippers on a table in the kitchen. They are being processed for evidence, police said.
