Man in custody following shelter-in-place order in Lewiston

A man was taken into custody Sunday night in Lewiston after police issued a shelter-in-place order for residents near the 900 block of Pletcher Road.

Lewiston Police on Sunday morning posted on Facebook they were trying to locate Jon B. Ellington, 44, in connection to an unspecified incident that happened Saturday in Lewiston. Police said Ellington was to be considered armed and dangerous.

The shelter-in-place order went into effect shortly before 7 p.m. for the 900 block area of Pletcher, just south of Lewiston-Porter schools, as well as Swann Road and the east side of Creek Road between Pletcher and Swann.

Police took Ellington into custody shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday. The order was lifted at about 8:45 p.m.

Authorities did not release any further details, including what charges Ellington faces. Police said more information would be released Monday.
