Police identify man killed in South Buffalo shooting

Buffalo police have identified the man fatally shot earlier this month in South Buffalo as Calvin Williams, 25, of Buffalo.

Williams, the city's 26th homicide victim of the year, was shot at about 11:45 p.m. June 12 on the 100 block of Pries Avenue. Pries runs between South Park Avenue and Hopkins Street, several blocks north of Tifft Street.

No one has been charged in the killing. Williams was shot several times and died at the scene, police said the next morning. Police have declined to release further details.

Police ask anyone who may have information to call or text the department's confidential tip line at 847-2255.
