Hamburg Central maintenance and clerical workers and the school district have agreed to contracts with annual pay increases of 2.5 percent.
The three-year pact with the 57-member Local 200, Service Employees International Union, which represents maintenance workers, also addresses the use of personal time and vacation scheduling. It provides two additional days of bereavement leave for a death in the immediate family and increases the district contribution toward dental insurance.
The five-year contract with the 26-member Local 264, Teamsters, which represents clerical workers, increases starting pay for new clerk typists, senior clerk typists, principal clerk typists and senior account clerks.
Both contracts go into effect July 1.
Superintendent Michael Cornell said that since 2015, the district has negotiated nearly all new labor contracts before the current ones expired.
