Tonawanda Tomorrow economic development plan to be presented

After nine months of planning and input from the community, Tonawanda Tomorrow will present its economic development plan for the town beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, with a news conference followed by light snacks and refreshments in the Community Room of the Phillip Sheridan Building, 3200 Elmwood Ave.

With the input of nearly 1,000 residents, business owners and community stakeholders, the plan is designed as a blueprint for growing Tonawanda's economy following the closing of the Huntley Power Plant last year.

Anyone interested in attending may register at tonawandatomorrow.org

Huntley was the largest single payer of tax revenue in the town and the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District, providing an annual $6.2 million through a payment in lieu of taxes agreement when it closed.
