June 22 – Location Change: Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs will have its monthly meeting at the Hamburg Rod and Gun Club, 3434 Hickox Road, Hamburg. This will be with the Lake Erie Chapter of the Federation of Fly fishers. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. (6:30 p.m. for the Board).

June 24 – Free Teach-Me-To-Fish Clinic at Chestnut Ridge County Park from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Preregistration is preferred by contacting DEC’s Mike Todd at 851-7010. Adult supervision required for all children.

June 24 – Kayaking the creek at Wilson-Tuscarora State Park from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Bring your kayak and approved PFD. Call 282-5154 for more info or to register.

June 24-25 – NYS Free Fishing Weekend. No license needed anywhere in the state but you do have to abide by state fishing regulations. Check out

June 24-25 – Hooked on Fishing Tournament presented by the Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns. Over $3,000 in prizes. Everything is run out of Gateway Harbor, North Tonawanda. June 24-25 – 9th Annual Family Fishing Days at Broderick Park, Buffalo (foot of Ferry Street) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Food, fun and games; fishing contest; demonstrations.
