A study on how to reuse the Central Terminal will begin Monday by the Urban Land Institute.
A dozen panel members will conduct a detailed tour of the site and surrounding area, spend two days consulting with over 100 people from the public and private sector and produce a detailed analysis. Recommendations will be presented on June 30.
The City of Buffalo and Empire State Development are each spending $50,000 for the study, with a $35,000 grant coming from the ULI Foundation.
“The Urban Land Institute is recognized as one of the world’s most respected sources of objective information on urban planning, growth and development, so to get its recommendations for the Central Terminal will help bring confidence and direction for future decisions regarding the iconic property,” Mayor Byron Brown said.
