Sabres ditch the gray piping in new adidas model sweater

The big NHL jersey reveal Tuesday night wasn't a major change for the Sabres. The adidas model has removed the gray piping on the sweaters but otherwise left them mostly intact, including the navy blue color.

The league's release through adidas says the new jersey is up to 19 percent lighter than its predecessor, is cooler for players due to much more breathable fabrics, is 27 percent stronger in burst testing and up to 72 percent tougher in abrasion testing.

Most teams had only minor alterations. Minnesota had one of the biggest changes, combining its former green alternate jersey with the logo from its red. Colorado went mostly back to its 1990s blue striping. Many teams had minor changes in the stripes.

The big reveal was the sweaters for the Vegas Golden Knights, who will have gray, gold and red as their colors.
