Mike Foligno in 1990-91. The Sabres have made numerous changes to their uniform through the years, including several major alterations. The blue and gold stayed relatively stable from 1970 to 1996, including the logo of a charging Buffalo above crossed swords.
Buffalo changed to a black and red scheme with a new primary logo of a buffalo head in 1996-97. Here, team captain Pat LaFontaine wears the team's new uniform during practice in April 1996. A packed house watched the open practice then mobbed the souvenir stands to buy some of the black, red and silver duds for themselves.

Daniel Briere in September 2006. The Sabres went back to blue and gold as their colors in 2006-07, but the original logo did not return. The Sabres used the top half of a buffalo, which led to the jersey being called the u201cslug.u201d

Thomas Vanek in 2010-11. In 2008-09, the Sabres introduced a third jersey that resembled the original sweater but with darker colors. That third jersey became the primary sweater in 2010-11 and is essentially the one the team used this season. Buffalo unveiled another third jersey that season, a royal blue sweater with u201cBuffalou201d across the chest.
Mike Weber (6) and Zenon Konopka in 2013-14. During the 2013-14 season, the Sabres released another third jersey. Yellow in the front and blue in the back, it became known as the u201cturd burgeru201d after then-Sabres President Ted Black said to unflattering reviews, u201cIf itu2019s a turd burger, Iu2019ll have to put it on a bun and eat it.u201d
