TAKE A BREAK – A free monthly respite program for persons with Alzheimer’s or other dementia and their caregivers begins Wednesday in Indian Falls United Methodist Church, 7908 Alleghany Road, Corfu.
The Caring Hearts and Hands program, assisted by the Western New York Alzheimer’s Caregiver Partnership, will be held every third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It provides trained volunteers, supervised activities and a meal while regular caregivers enjoy a break.

LOOKING AHEAD – Dennis Galucki, founder of the IMAGINE Buffalo lunchtime lecture series, will give a preview of his organization’s Eighth annual Buffalo Day at Chautauqua at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo. Buffalo Day will be held July 11 at Chautauqua Institution. Its theme is “A Crisis of Faith? An Opportunity for Reflection.”
The program will begin at noon in the Ring of Knowledge on the library’s main floor with a video lecture recorded at Chautauqua in 2015. Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe nearby.

BERRY SEASON – St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church, 12029 Liberia Road, East Aurora, will host a Strawberry Social on the church picnic grounds from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. In addition to strawberries, ice cream and shortcake, there will burgers, hot dogs and salads.

FUTURE STARS – Short films made by East Aurora High School students will be screened Tuesday evening in the Fifth Annual Aurora Film Academy Festival in the Aurora Theater, 673 Main St., East Aurora.
