FC Buffalo had to overcome a power failure - literally - in the neighborhood of their home of All-High Stadium. The team did so in a 2-0 win over the Fort Pitt Regiment on Saturday night.
Chris Walter and Julien Dragomir had the goals for FC Buffalo, which improved its record to 2-3-2 on the season. FCB passed Cleveland and Syracuse to move into fourth place in the NPSL’s Midwest Conference standings.
Buffalo travels to Rochester on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the WNY Flash had a big night on offense as the team defeated the Rochester Lady Lancers, 4-1. The game was played at Niagara University.
Maddie Pezzino (Grand Island) and Carissima Cutrona (Williamsville South) had two goals and two assists each for the Flash, which won its last home game of the season. WNY had scored only five goals in its previous six games. The four-goal output helped improve the Flash’s record to 2-3-2 on the season.
“I am so pleased for the team because the hard work in practice is showing dividends on the field,” WNY head coach Gary Bruce said. “What I saw on the field tonight was confident players that knew what they wanted out of the game and were able to go get it. As a coach, there is nothing more pleasant than that.”
The same two teams will meet in Rochester next Saturday afternoon, as the Flash will end its regular season with three straight road games.
