Everything you need to know about the 2017 #PrepTalkAwards

The fourth annual Prep Talk Awards, held on Wednesday, are commemorated in a 14-page special section in Saturday's Buffalo News that chronicles the best of the 2016-17 high school sports season.

Players of the Year in 40 categories were honored, along with the All-WNY first teams in football and basketball. Also announced Wednesday evening were additional major awards for Prep Talk Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Prep Talk Program of the Year, Prep Talk Team of the Year, Prep Talk Coach of the Year and a Prep Talk Hall of Fame inductee.

Former Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson kicked off the evening with a message for the athletes to enjoy all the accomplishments, but never get complacent.
