The Buffalo News will host the next Slow Roll on Monday, June 19, and plans to add a few bells and whistles to the weekly all-ages bike ride.
Participants can gather at The News, at Scott and Washington streets, at 5:15 p.m. Monday to learn how to stay healthy and active this summer with help from the American Heart Association, Theatre of Youth and the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.
Dr. Joanne Wu, a Rochester physiatrist who lives in Snyder and teaches yoga and AcroYoga in the Buffalo area, will lead a 30-minute “stretch and flex” yoga warmup for the Slow Roll in The News lobby at 5:15 p.m.; no mats are needed and you can do it in your cycling clothes.
Those events, and the Slow Roll, which starts at 6:30, are free. The roughly 10-mile guided ride will start and end outside The News.
An after-party with food trucks, music and refreshments will follow. First-time riders should register for the bike ride at slowrollbuffalo.org.
