Dog saved from North Buffalo house fire

A dog was rescued from a house fire in North Buffalo on Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to a home at 102 Ledger St., off Hertel Avenue, at 6:23 a.m. The residents of the house were not at home when the fire started, according to the Buffalo Fire Department radio transmissions.

The fire started in a first-floor bedroom and there was smoke damage throughout the home. Total damage was estimated at $130,000, the department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
