Hamburg's therapeutic pool is in good condition, according to an engineering report, but senior citizens who use the pool in the Iris Apartments say it is too small.
The pool's size was not reviewed in the report, but some seniors say it is crowded during some exercise sessions. The Town Board voted in 2015 to borrow money for a new pool at the senior center, but last year pulled financing for it.
"There's not a lot of work that needs to be done to that pool," said engineering consultant Michael Quinn.
"People would come if there was room to move in the pool," senior Elsie Kelly told the Town Board Monday, suggesting the space issue be addressed.
The board asked for a report on pool usage. Councilman Tom Best Jr. said the board, or next year's new five-member board, would discuss whether to build a new pool.
